1st Birthday, Christmas, January..."Dear goodness!" and "Um, Exccuse Me!"

Well, the title of this post says it all. Yes, it has been forever(once again)since I updated and those ARE common phrases used around our home these days! Reason being because at FOURTEEN months, Mr. Tripp, sure is in to EVERYTHING and most definitely spreading those wings in the "What can I get away with?" department! Of course, we are enjoying EVERY second and count it as one of our most wonderful blessings each day to get to be the parents of such an amazing little boy; however, it is somewhat "trying" aaand often funny.

In a nut shell, here's what we are up to:

Tripp -

*had a GREAT 1st birthday party and Santa was very good to him! :)
*is now running...all the time...everywhere
*eating with a spoon or fork with little assistance - have I ever mentioned how much he LOVES yogurt and will feed himself an adult sized cup in minutes?
*eats more than you would think possible and is hungry minutes later
*in addition to the other words listed last time - says dog, ball, yes, gun(followed by a bam-bam, oh boy, like father like son), no sir!, VROOOOM when he plays with his cars/tractors, and signs but is still working on saying eat
*has 7 teeth
*had his first "big boy" haircut from Aunt Kelcie :) aaand already needs another one
*won his first trophy at the Welch Livestock Show...he was a natural - went out there with his game face on :), watched the judge, and(thanks to Jessica!) set that lamb up perfectly...haha since I was once an Ag chapter president it made me one PROUD, hopeful Mama! haha
*is working on a few animal sounds and thinks it's HILARIOUS! - he will make a bark when you ask what a dog says and a growl when you ask what a dinosaur says but just laughs when we try the rest
*climbs up in his little chair and smiles like he's sooo proud
*likes wearing a hat around the house but refuses to leave one on when we go anywhere
*really wants Daddy to take him everywhere and cries at the door when he leaves
*can throw an awful fit...which often earns him swat...and he IS well aware of what he is doing so, YES we do spank and it WILL benefit him in the future!

I know there's more Tripp is doing but it's hard to remember what I've already posted and what's new! He's changing so fast and is just the sweetest thing!

Levi & Nicole -

Levi was recently elected on our school board and is so appreciative of those who voted in his favor! He has learned so much and looks forward to all the challenges and blessings it will bring in bettering our school. Since he rarely worries about anything, I am very anxious about this FOR him because everyone has an opinion of what the board SHOULD do but very few have a true idea of what they can and cannot do -"I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please EVERYone." - Bill Cosby
He is also still enjoying every minute of his service to the Welch Volunteer Fire Department. I am so proud of all the guys who step up to do this and are doing an awesome job for our community. Sometime soon, he will be applying for the firefighting program in Lubbock. This will take lots of hard work/time and is something that we have prayed about and has been on his heart for a while. I am so hopeful for his success in being accepted in/completing the program and know God will guide us through His plan for this!

*As for me, I have been busy soaking up EVERY minute I can with Tripp and growing in my teaching as much as possible...which is why I never find time to update this thing. I also have joined a BUNCO group here in Welch! :) I am very excited to meet some new ladies and spend time with good friends! In addition to everything else, I just want to share my joy for the fact that God has been testing and leading me in many ways the last couple of weeks. I have always had faith and trust in Him but have never been strong in recalling His written word to how He leads me. I am sooo proud to say that He has been providing me with so much guidance/confidence in the passages and scriptures I have been studying and I hope I can begin to be much more comfortable recalling these glorious words to others around me! Thank YOU Lord; what a promising feeling!

OK, ok enough of all that...see pictures below!!!

11/14/2010 - Good morning, Sunshine!

Look at those eyelashes.

My sister, aka Aunt Rachie, and I took a glass blowing class. It was so fun/interesting and we made some beautiful ornaments and paper weights! Tripp had to check it all out beforehand of course.

11/25/2010 - Can you tell he was really not sure about the leaves? I think the noise of them crunching bothered him.

11/26/2010 - Here Daddy, I know exactly how I can help!

12/10/2010 - Sorry about the pic of a full mouth but...HAPPY BIRTHDAY, sweet Tripp!! I made him some chocolate chip pancakes before he was off to Ms. Lisa's. What a special morning that was!

12/11/2010 - Haha, we had a puppy themed party! That "puppy house" was so ugly it was cute(thanks to Daddy and PaPa) and was a BIG hit with all the kiddos in and out of it.

These were the "doggie bags" we put the party favors in! :)

Daddy and PaPa were SO excited to help prepare for the party...

The ADORABLE cake made by no other than our Ms. Lisa!

We had lots of help unwrapping and wouldn't have wanted it any other way! Special memories!

Noah, Tripp, TAC, and Guy...Graham and a few others missed the photo op.!

Mmm, mmm, GOOD!

Can you guess what's about to happen?

UH! OH! - Clean up on the cake isle! hahahaha

His favorite gift! Thanks Aunt Rach...and I mean that sarcastically...you have created a monster...he wants to take it with us ALL the time.

That was one wild party! He had so much fun but was exhausted by the time he finished dinner.

12/17/2010 - Grandaddy came and let Tripp drive the tractor! Now when he hears one outside the house he runs to the door and wants to go so bad. Too cute!

12/23/2010 - Four Generations - Pa, Grandaddy, Daddy, and Tripp

12/24/2010 - Ready for bed, read the Christmas Story, and listening for those sleigh bells!

Cookies and milk for Santa

12/29/2010 - He had fun this time but has gotten much better at making the food go in the MOUTH! :)

1/4/2011 - Being such a big boy! Thanks Aunt Kelcie he looks so big after his haircut!!

Tripp and Jessica at the Welch Livestock Show!

Look at that trophy! He is so proud of it and points to it on his dresser all the time...Did I already tell you how proud I was of him, too?! Thanks for the great pics, Britni!

1/19/2010 - This is the hat he usually wears around the house and obviously thinks he's pretty cute in it!

1/25/2010 - Look close! He had his first big "goose egg" on his head and I think I was more upset than he was.

1/25/2011 - It's Basketball season! GO DRAGONS! He loved the game and kept pointing at the court yelling something that sounded like "Go, GO, there, there!" haha

11/28/2010 - The three stooges: Noah, Graham, and Tripp. The future is looking like lots of fun around here...maybe a little scary too!
